Hurricane Harvey - 2017 - Southeast Texas - Aftermath

You have all seen the news about Hurricane Harvey in Southeast Texas. We are praying for the storm to be minimal but preparing for a hit. Now it is time to take some Good News into the Bad News places. We have many partner ministries responding to the area right now. I have been on calls with Pastors and Disaster Ministries preparing to assist and aid.

We have tractor trailer loads of relief supplies. Workers on standby, sites being prepared and cook teams ready to roll. Most important these are Christians ready to pray for needs and lead hurting people to Jesus.

Oklahoma Tornado Disaster - May 2013

A Word From Jerry

You have all seen the bad news about the Oklahoma Tornado. Now it is time to take some Good News into the Bad News places. We have many partner ministries responding to the area right now. I have been on conference calls with Pastors in the affected areas. I just got off the phone with one old friend who pastors in Oklahoma City. They saw the first tornado coming down & quickly prayed, then saw it lift back up missing them. We are assisting them and the other churches in the area to help their community.

Two of our partner ministries, Tim Grisham Ministries and Michael Crimi, Starlight Ministries will be there shortly with tractor trailer loads of relief supplies and food. Both of them will be establishing relief bases at church sites. Michael has a large portable kitchen capable of cooking 20,000 meals per day. Tim and Michael have both worked in the field with me for many years and not only will they be assisting with relief for people's bodies, they will minister to their souls with prayer and the healing Word of God. Please help us get the word out by sharing our DisasterPastor.net  website and the donate button to help us help the victims.

Good News New York/New Jersey! Jesus cares and so do we

CRISIS TIME IS GOD TIME!
Most people, who turn to Christ, do so because a crisis of some sort hits their lives. Sometimes it's a health crisis, sometimes its an emotional crisis, sometimes it's a relational crisis, sometimes it's a financial crisis. The only good news about a disaster is the way in which it focuses peoples mind as to what is really important in life. When all else fails, people turn to God. That's why I do what I do. That's why I have been in almost every major disaster in 63 countries and half of our United States in the last 25 years. Crisis Time is God Time.
People who never seriously entertain a thought about the relevance of God in their life, suddenly change their mind in a crisis. Jesus proved over and over that the best time to give people the Gospel is when they are in a crisis mode. Jesus quoted Isaiah the prophet, when he said, 'some people have ears, but they don't hear, some have eyes but they don't see.

3.png

However, let a crisis enter a person's life, and they soon find out that they are not good at being their own God. Suddenly they see the need for supernatural intervention.
When we demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by meeting people's natural needs during a crisis, they are all ears to hear the good news. We don't just pass out relief supplies like the government or secular aid organizations, we pray with them, counsel with them and minister salvation and healing and restoration to their souls. We point to the church as being their long term answer for any crisis in their lives.

My Role as the Disaster Pastor
1. Win Souls and Train Pastors & Churches how to turn a temporary disaster into an eternal victory for the Kingdom of Heaven.
2. Assess and Oversee distribution of Aid and Spiritual Ministry
3. Coordinate with Churches to purchase or facilitate the purchase and collection of supplies including first aid, food, water, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, etc
4. Pastoral Support: An important need is to temporarily financially support local pastors who lose their churches, homes, and congregations. Many churches cannot conduct services, therefore cannot receive their normal tithes and offerings.
5. Rebuild and Restore Churches and Ministries so they can help rebuild their communities bringing God the credit and empowering their ongoing efforts, as well as firmly establishing their relationship equity with their communities.
FEMA, Red Cross, and other secular organizations are totally capable of bringing humanitarian aid. They are NOT capable of delivering it with true compassion. That takes Christians.
The secular world is also not capable of delivering the Gospel. But God never asked them to. That is the responsibility of the CHURCH at large.

6. Faith Without Works is Dead... But Works Without Faith is Dead:
100 hundred years from now EVERYONE we help will be dead. All of the buildings we restore will be gone or useless. The Church of Jesus Christ MUST leverage our desire to be humanitarians with our commission to be soul savers.
It's very simple. The great command from Jesus to "Love your neighbor as yourself" must go hand in hand with the great commission from Christ to "Go make disciples."
It takes both. Just as a dove needs two wings... So the dove of the Holy Spirit need both wings of the great command and the great commission to fulfill the mission of the church.
As the little poem says, "Only one life will soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last."

HOW THE CHURCH BECOMES RELEVANT IN A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS
First let me say a thank you to all church partners and friends of The Disaster Pastor Network, who are part of our efforts in New York / New Jersey relief efforts through prayer, contacts and finances. 'Alone I can do a little, together we can touch the world.î
Special thanks goes to Woodlands Church, Pastors Kerry and Chris Shook, Somebody Cares, Doug Stringer, Saddleback Church, Rick Warren, Assoc of Independent Ministries, Bishop IV Hilliard, Pastor Frank Griffith, and dozens of other strategic partner ministries.
Woodlands Church and has immediately responded to the call of need in New York by funding our travel expenses and sending cash to render aid where we see fit! They and New Light Church's (Bishop Hilliard) and Somebody Cares affiliated Churches are also having food drives to ship to locations we have secured with Pastors in New York and New Jersey which will serve as staging grounds, Evangelistic Points of Distribution, and hosting relief volunteer teams to help relief, recovery & rebuilding efforts.

Disaster Pastor Network and all our partner ministries mission is not only to provide natural help which is temporary, but to win souls for Christ. Crisis time is God time.  Supplies and Preachers must be sent to hurting people in times of Crisis, "how shall they preach, except they be sent?" Rom 10:15.
It's always an honor for myself and Disaster Pastor Network to represent many ministries working together in disasters.
These type of strategic partnership enables us to be among the first to assess a crisis, understand its unique DNA, and then mobilize the church world and other Christian compassion organizations to render aid and rescue souls.
We are able to do this through a vast and growing network of relationships with churches and compassion ministries built through 100 campaigns in 63 countries over 25 years. In a matter of a few hours we can usually make vital contacts necessary to make the church of Jesus Christ and the Gospel relevant in a worldwide recognized humanitarian crisis.
Would you like to join the Disaster Pastor Network and be part of making a difference in world-wide catastrophic crisis? Contact us and we'll tell you how.
